Khoa Cấp cứu, BV Nhiệt đới Trung ương vừa tiếp nhận cụ bà, 73 tuổi nhập viện trong tình trạng suy hô hấp, kèm theo tổn thương ở gan và thận rất nặng. Bệnh nhân đã sử dụng thuốc nam không rõ nguồn gốc.
Theo lời kể của người nhà bệnh nhân, bệnh nhân bị viêm khớp đã lâu, điều trị thuốc nam kèm corticoid kéo dài. Bệnh nhân được phát hiện suy tuyến thượng thận cách đây 2 tháng, bị viêm gan B không điều trị trong nhiều năm. Điều đặc biệt, bệnh nhân mua thuốc nam theo nguồn truyền miệng, không rõ nguồn gốc…
Bệnh nhân vào viện trong tình trạng suy hô hấp, kèm theo tổn thương ở gan và thận rất nặng.
Ngay sau khi tiếp nhận, bệnh nhân được xử trí thở oxy liều cao, sử dụng các thuốc ổn định chức năng gan, thận.
BS. Nguyễn Viết Nam, khoa Cấp cứu, BV Bệnh Nhiệt đới Trung ương cho biết, đối với việc sử dụng thuốc nam, thuốc đông y, cần phải đến các cơ sở uy tín để tránh tình trạng thuốc bị trộn lẫn các hóa chất độc hại, chất cấm gây ra biến chứng khi người bệnh sử dụng.
Cũng theo BS. Nam với những người bệnh cao tuổi nhập viện đa phần đều không tìm hiểu tiếp cận được thông tin của thuốc nam mà mình sử dụng. Cùng với đó, bệnh nhân mắc các bệnh mạn tính phải sử dụng thuốc tây lâu dài nên gánh nặng về kinh tế buộc họ phải tìm đến thuốc nam với giá thành rẻ.
“Các thuốc nam được pha trộn dễ dàng cho người bệnh sử dụng, giảm triệu chứng nhanh hơn thuốc tây. Sau đó, khi bị các tác dụng phụ của thuốc, người bệnh mới phải nhập viện trong tình trạng nặng”, BS. Nam nói.
Trước đó, khoa cũng đã cấp cứu nhiều trường hợp sử dụng thuốc nam “nhà tôi 3 đời” đau bụng dữ dội, men gan tăng vọt hàng chục lần và phải nhập viện cấp cứu. Đa phần bệnh nhân nhập viện đều có các tổn thương gan, thận; trường hợp nặng thì phải lọc máu cấp cứu…
