VinFast đang làm việc với tư vấn để thực hiện chào bán ngay trong quý này, một đợt chào bán có thể huy động lên tới 2 tỷ USD. VinFast kỳ vọng vào mức định giá ít nhất 50 tỷ USD sau khi niêm yết, nguồn tin của Bloomberg cho biết.
Về lý do các công ty chọn IPO tại Mỹ thay vì quê nhà, Investopedia cho rằng, có một vài động cơ chính khiến các công ty quyết định như vậy.
Thứ nhất là giá trị vốn hóa thị trường chứng khoán Mỹ có quy mô lớn hơn rất nhiều so với các sàn chứng khoán khác. Đây sẽ là nơi có nhiều nhà đầu tư có tiềm lực tài chính, sẵn sàng góp vốn mà không đòi hỏi quyền điều hành vì niêm yết trên sàn giao dịch Mỹ cho phép ban giám đốc duy trì kiểm soát của các công ty dù không sở hữu phần lớn cổ phiếu. Minh chứng thành công của Facebook và Manchester United là bài học tốt cho các công ty muốn IPO tại đây.
Thứ hai, các doanh nghiệp IPO tại Mỹ kỳ vọng sẽ có sức hút lớn đối với các nhà đầu tư trên khắp thế giới thay vì chỉ ở thị trường quê nhà.
Thứ ba, việc niêm yết trên sàn chứng khoán của Mỹ cho phép các công ty có phạm vi hoạt động rộng hơn khi tiến hành mua bán sáp nhập. Sở hữu cổ phiếu niêm yết bằng đồng USD sẽ đơn giản hóa hoạt động mua lại các công ty Mỹ trong tương lai của doanh nghiệp nước ngoài, và giảm bớt sự giám sát mà những thương vụ này thường phải đối mặt.
Bên cạnh đó, khi một công ty Mỹ được niêm yết muốn mua một doanh nghiệp Mỹ khác, thị trường có xu hướng không quan tâm đến thương vụ. Nhưng điều này lại hoàn toàn trái ngược khi một doanh nghiệp nước ngoài muốn mua công ty Mỹ.
Nhưng liệu một công ty nước ngoài, đặc biệt là từ khu vực đang phát triển có thể thuyết phục được các nhà đầu tư Mỹ?
Theo KrAsia, Masana Takahashi, nhà sáng lập công ty tư vấn tài chính doanh nghiệp và kế toán Jidobox có trụ sở tại Singapore, nhiều nhà đầu tư Mỹ đã kiếm được lợi nhuận đáng kinh ngạc thông qua sự thành công của các công ty Trung Quốc trên thị trường chứng khoán Mỹ. Tuy nhiên, những bất đồng về địa chính trị giữa Mỹ và Trung Quốc đã để lại dấu hỏi về tương lai của các công ty Trung Quốc niêm yết tại New York.
